Founded in Cape Town in 2021. Over 200 events streamed for corporate clients, congregations, associations and content creators.
Mignis Productions is a livestreaming and video production company based in Cape Town, serving the Western Cape and travelling nationally. We cover seven disciplines — livestreaming, conference recording, hybrid and virtual event production, podcast and vodcast production, studio installations, videography and photography, and IMAG for large venues.
What connects them is the same job: taking the technical layer of an event off the client’s hands entirely. An organiser running a conference has a programme to manage, speakers to look after and a room full of people to keep happy. They should not also be worrying about whether the stream is up, whether the slides are legible, or whether the recording will be usable afterwards.
That is the whole promise, and it is why the brand line is Focus on Your Moment. We are not trying to be the most visible part of your event. On a good day nobody in the room notices we are there at all.
Michal Venter
Michal Venter is the director of Mignis Productions. He has worked in audio since 2016 and in broadcast since 2020, and founded Mignis Productions in 2021.
That order matters. A decade in live audio came first, and broadcast was built on top of it rather than the other way round. It is the reason audio is treated here as the thing that decides whether a production works, not as the part you sort out after the cameras are placed.
It is also why the default on every job is a direct patch from the sound desk rather than a camera microphone, why conference slides are taken from the source signal rather than filmed off a screen, and why a local backup recording runs on every production regardless of what else is happening.

Three things we
hold to
Redundancy is built in rather than added on. Bonded connectivity so a stream does not depend on a venue’s broadband, a local recording running in parallel on every job, and backup feeds where a production needs them. Live events do not offer second takes, so the equipment has to assume something will go wrong.
We adapt to how you work. That means integrating with the AV already in your venue, working alongside a supplier you have appointed, or supplying the equipment ourselves — whichever suits the job rather than whichever suits us. It also means saying plainly when a cheaper option would serve you better.
Published prices, itemised quotes within one business day, and no technical homework handed back to you. You should not need to understand bonded connectivity, mix-minus or slide capture to book a production. That is our job, and keeping it our job is the point.
Cape Town based.
Built to travel.
We are based in Cape Town and work throughout the city and the wider Western Cape, including Stellenbosch, Paarl, Somerset West, Franschhoek and the Winelands. Beyond the province we have worked on events in Johannesburg, Durban and Umhlanga, and we travel nationally for larger productions. The kit is built to move: it packs into road cases, sets up inside a morning, and does not depend on what a venue happens to keep in its store room. Travel and accommodation outside the Western Cape are quoted per job and agreed upfront.
